Beginning Legal Professionals Training Course
In its commitment to further the education of the Sacramento Valley legal community, Sacramento LPA tries to conduct at least one Beginning Legal Professionals Training Course per year. These courses are taught by experienced legal professionals actively working in the legal field, who are also qualified members of Sacramento LPA and have obtained their California Certified Legal Secretary certification, paralegal certification, and/or have worked in law offices for at least ten years. The course includes one night of class per week (two hours per night) and is designed for the legal support staff member with little or no experience currently working in a law office or law-related office, or the experienced staff member needing refresher courses. The course utilizes the Law Office Procedures Manual as the textbook, which is written by members of Legal Professionals, Inc., and published by The Rutter Group. The course covers: Court Structure, Best Practices & Ethics; Civil Procedure; Discovery; Calendaring; Corporate Law; Citations; Family Law; Probate/Estate Planning; Real Estate/Unlawful Detainer. All classes include legal terminology and practical application exercises.
